I’m Alexandria Davis, and I am a social science researcher who specializes in political behavior, race and ethnicity, and political psychology. My research interests include non-voting, racial and ethnic politics, Black political behavior, social class, political psychology, and intersectionality. My dissertation project, “The Black Apathetic Voter: Exploring the Contours of Black Non-Voting” received the 2026 Western Political Science Association’s Best Dissertation Award.
My upcoming book project focuses on a new measure of racial-group apathy and non-voting in the United States. I received my Ph.D. from UCLA, and I was born and raised in Inglewood, California. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Virginia Commonwealth University.
